One of Glasgow's leading independent accountancy practices currently requires a Team Leader for its Communications Team cased in the Insolvency department

The Role

The Insolvency department has a large number of appointments daily.  The Communications Team is the first point of contact for debtors.  This role involves overseeing the Communications Team who are responsible for the initial investigations into sequestration clients (including closing businesses), interviewing debtors and debtor discharges.  Working in a small team, this role provides an opportunity to coach less experienced members of staff as well as influence and improve process, whilst directing the work of the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing team administration on a daily basis (Supplementary Questionnaires, BROs, DCOs, Debtor discharges, Case Reviews)
  • Identifying and considering issues regarding trading debtors – decision to close, employees, assets, etc
  • Providing guidance to staff attending trading premises
  • Maintaining appropriate paperwork and performing essential administration processes
  • Managing and leading the team and overseeing work carried out (rate and quality)
  • Providing guidance and training on complex issues
  • Mentoring and coaching less experienced team members
  • Any other appropriate tasks 

Candidate requirements

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Fact-finding and excellent questioning technique
  • Excellent day-to-day use of the Microsoft suite (eg, Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Confident delivery in challenging circumstances
  • Previous experience of selling assets in personal insolvency
  • Appropriate level of experience of personal insolvency
  • Proven team leadership skills
  • CPPI/CPI qualified
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Client focused
  • Can effectively work in a team environment
