iMultiply is delighted to be working with this reputable, well-established independent accountancy practice in order to recruit an experienced tax professional to join its team.

The company

Established over forty years ago, this Glasgow based practice has an excellent reputation for providing both compliance and advisory services to a client base comprising of owner managed businesses, large private companies, corporate clients and high net worth individuals.

The role

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of tax compliance and advisory work, dealing with all types of taxation in a client facing role.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Calculating and preparing Corporate Tax, Personal Tax and VAT returns for a diverse client base
  • Reviewing Tax returns prepared by junior members of staff
  • Providing Tax planning advice to Corporate and Private Clients
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects
  • Point of contact for a varied client portfolio
  • Liaising with Directors and other departments
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Supervision of junior members of staff
  • Keeping up to date with Tax legislation and technological changes 

Essential experience and skills

  • A minimum of 3 years mixed Tax experience obtained within an accountancy practice environment 
  • Experience of preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
  • ATT/CTA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience with the IRIS software package will be beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work without supervision
