This 'Big Four' professional services firm is currently recruiting for an International Tax Services Senior Tax Advisor to join its team predominantly based in Aberdeen

The Role

  • Working with some of the most highly skilled professionals and leading UK/overseas MNCs, lawyers and banks on complex and challenging projects you will help your clients to execute their international tax strategy. 
  • You will help your clients with; expanding into new markets, Pre-transaction reorganisations and post transaction integration, M&A diligence and tax structuring, legal structure rationalisation, operating model redesign, optimisation of capital structure and financing, advice on the tax aspects of some of the firms most complex audits, managing the risk arising from global law change such as BEPS and lobbying and negotiation with tax authorities in UK and globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contributing to building and maintaining key client relationships by delivering exceptional client service
  • Managing the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
  • Identifying and driving opportunities – use your knowledge gained from other projects and from our knowledge sharing sessions and technical training to add input to projects and proposals
  • Building your own strong client and internal relationships - develop and use your relationship skills to create your own external and internal networks
  • Develop junior staff through delegation and on the job training

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to build strong client relationships and committed to delivery of exceptional client service
  • Enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work
  • Strong and motivated team player; ability to integrate with new teams quickly
  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral
  • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out effective reviews and know when to refer upwards

  • Project management skills to plan and prioritise work, as well as meet deadlines
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically


  • Background in corporate tax with some demonstrable advisory experience
  • You’ll have one of the following qualifications: ATT / ACA / CA / CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA)
  • Strong technical skills and keen to develop further


  • Project management skills, plan and prioritize work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget
