12 month role in Glasgow for an experienced management accountant. This role could turn permanent for the right candidate after the initial 6 months. £45,000 + car allowance + benefits

The Company

A global manufacturing company with a large manufacturing site in Glasgow. Offering onsite parking and an accessible location.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the financial accounting and control requirements of a manufacturing site are met. The role includes significant business partner interaction and involves developing Cost Centre Managers' financial awareness. There is one person in the team to manage who has significant company experience. Central to the role is building relationships and engaging senior operational managers with cost saving and profitability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that decisions, plans and strategies are formulated on a sound commercial and financial basis
  • Reviewing and reporting performance against agreed budgets and forecasts and driving the formulation of the necessary action plans to meet those objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and group accounting procedures, highlighting areas of concern as appropriate and taking corrective action
  • Financial control of the site investment program
  • Financial Leadership of the site and being an active part of the Site Leadership team
  • Managing and developing the site finance team
  • Coaching the Site operational team on financial matters
  • Supporting the other site finance roles as and when required

The Person

  • Experience of making complex financial analysis easily understood in a manufacturing background
  • Costing, financial reporting and control experience
  • Track record of providing robust and insightful financial analysis, including planning and forecasting
  • Financial analysis and modelling ability
  • Knowledge of ERP processes and an aptitude for systems with an ability to get up to speed
  • Have the personal impact to build solid successful working relationships that can influence senior management
  • Strong communication, with good interpersonal skills to work cross function
  • Have the initiative and desire to challenge the status quo
  • A collaborative, solutions driven and proactive approach
  • Good knowledge of excel and powerpoint
