The Role

The new position of Private Client Tax Assistant Manager has arisen based in Aberdeen. This role could quickly lead to Manager level within the next few years for the right individual. The position sits within an energetic and dynamic environment where they are always looking for ways to refine and improve their processes to ensure their client service remains at a market leading level.

On Offer

The role of Private Client Tax Assistant Manager will offer a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus an excellent benefits package. The Firm’s offices are based in the Edinburgh city centre and are easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Managing of a varied portfolio of clients including HNWI
  • Preparing and reviewing income and CGT tax computations
  • Assisting senior management in delivery of tax advisory work
  • Conducting research and preparing advisory reports
  • Liaising with clients and building excellent working relationships
  • Liaising with HMRC and external stakeholders
  • Cross-selling with other departments and identifying additional revenue opportunities 
  • Developing and assisting in the management of a small team
  • Keeping up to date with changes in legislation
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and playing a key role in their development and learning 

To be considered for this role you must:

  • At least 3 years’ Personal Tax experience – ESSENTIAL
  • ATT/CTA or equivalent Qualified - DESIRABLE
  • Have an Accountancy Firm/Practice or Legal background – ESSENTIAL
  • Have experience of Tax Planning – DESIRABLE
  • Have a keen interest in developing and coaching other team members
  • Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a positive and proactive mindset
