The position of a Payroll Senior has arisen with a large, well-known accountancy practice based in Glasgow City Centre.

The Company

This well-established, independent accountancy practice is one of the largest of its kind in Scotland and provides accountancy services and business advice to clients in the commercial, public and third sectors.

The role  

  • Assisting in the managing of payroll clients and ensure that they are receiving high quality work from the payroll team.
  • Ensuring that all legislative requirements are met.
  • Ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Meet with or make regular calls to clients to ensure we are covering all of their requirements.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide advice to other service groups.
  • Ensure our current clients are receiving a high quality service.
  • Provide quotes for potential new clients.
  • Meet with potential new clients.
  • Assist in the line management of junior employees.
  • Ensure payroll knowledge remains up to date.
  • Plan timetables.
  • Provide ROAD feedback for junior employees.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating procedures as necessary.
  • Review payrolls.
  • Assist junior employees with payroll training and auto enrolment training as required.
  • Manage own portfolio
  • Opportunity to act up when assistant manager / manager is absent
  • Review payrolls for assistants and provide feedback
  • Prepare and review fee levels and review service level agreements
  • Begin to assist managers in planning timetables
  • Active involvement in the training and development of new and junior employees
  • Develop leadership skills through assisting in the line management of junior employees and providing them with ROAD feedback
  • Market and expand the team by meeting and providing quotes for potential new clients
