12 month FTC position in West Lothian (20 hours a week)

The Company

A multinational company which is growing its finance function in West Lothian

The Role

Main responsibilities include:

  • Month-end management accounts preparation, including:
    • Review and posting of accruals and prepayments, payroll, sales adjustments
    • Review, challenge and posting of finance manager journals
    • Uploading P&Ls, Working Capital and Aged Debtors information into the Group reporting system and ensuring reconciliation to GL
    • Review month end reconciliations (including Net Sales)
  • Inter-company accounting for group companies
  • Support the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for European central functions
  • Capital projects approval tracking and expenditure reporting
  • Provide support to Finance Manager and Group Tax Manager on VAT/statutory reporting
  • Provide monthly reporting and analysis to Sector businesses 
  • Provide KPI monitoring and reporting for the Reporting team
  • Support of internal/external audit processes and ensure an effective control environment
  • Ad hoc duties as and when required to support finance applications and initiatives

The Person

  • Part-qualified Accountant or QBE
  • Teamwork and effective communication within a team
  • Ability to challenge and question accounting treatments
  • Self-starter, works own initiative and proactive
  • Self-confident in their own ability and in their accounting knowledge
  • Attention to detail especially regarding VAT and GL transactions
  • Positive, can-do attitude
