An experienced permanent Financial Accountant is required by a Glasgow-based business on a Part-Time basis.

The Company

This hugely successful business has a lengthy track record of disrupting their marketplace and producing excellent products. They have been highly acquisitive throughout the last decade and they have plans to continue that growth in the years to come.

The Role

You will be reporting to the Financial Controller and you will have a varied workload which will see you engaging with numerous senior stakeholders across the business. This opportunity would be ideal for a professionally qualified individual with sound technical accounting knowledge. This opportunity would be suitable for someone with an industry background or directly coming from an Accountancy Practice/Firm looking to make their first move into industry.

  Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the preparation and submission of the Statutory Accounts for the company and subsidiaries
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of reporting standards, tax legislation and compliance requirements
  • Produce and distribute P&L reports
  • Overall responsibility for Corporation and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with strict guidelines
  • Ensure Treasury management is in line with company guidelines
  • Assist senior management in relation to Mergers & Acquisitions as required
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as senior management, HMRC, Auditors, pension advisors, etc
  • Act as the financial business partner for your allocated divisions
  • Focus on continuous improvement and ensure all processes are streamlined, fit for purpose and compliant

On Offer

This role is offered on a part-time basis (3 or 4 days) and comes with a full-time equivalent salary of up to £50k. There are additional benefits including a flexible working pattern. Additional hours may be required at peak times.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • You must be a professionally qualified accountant - Essential
  • Excellent technical accounting skills with exposure of IFRS being advantageous
  • Experience of Corporate Tax and VAT will be required
  • You must be comfortable liaising with senior management on complex financial issues
  • Excellent relationship management skills with a track record of acting as the main point of contact for auditors and HMRC
  • First class IT skills will be required, particularly Microsoft Excel. Exposure to an ERP system would be beneficial
