The Company

A highly commercial company based in Edinburgh City Centre are currently seeking a Part Qualified Assistant Accountant to join their ever-growing team. This position presents the opportunity to join a massively growing business that is operating within an established business sector. The business is already very well established and now requires talented & ambitious individuals to complement its already impressive team. 

The Role

The role of Part Qualified Assistant Accountant presents the opportunity to join a world-class finance function and will offer ample career progression development opportunities due to the significant size of the business. The key purpose of this newly created role is to support the Edinburgh based Finance Manager in their delivery of timely, accurate and insightful financial reporting. The role will also require close working relationships with other department heads.

The Offer

This newly created Part Qualified Assistant Accountant position will offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000 (depending on experience) plus an excellent benefits package including study support. The offices are based in Edinburgh and are easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Preparation of various month end and operational finance reports, including value add commentary.
  • Completion of multiple balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure key balances are substantiated and investigate/resolve any variances in a timely manner.
  • Calculation of routine revenue, COS and overhead journal entries.
  • Assist with preparation of group VAT return. Ensure working papers are accurate and complete with key balances substantiated.
  • Preparation of relevant interim and year end audit requirements.
  • Daily review of cash receivable accounts from all payment providers.
  • Contribution into detailed daily cash flow forecasting model.
  • Calculation of month end settlement costs. Preparation of monthly settlement costs analytical report, with associated commentary.
  • Assist with annual budget process.
  • Preparation of ad hoc financial reports.
  • Work with others within the business to continuously enhance business and process knowledge.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA 
  • 2+ years’ experience in a finance role
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
