An exceptional permanent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Accountant based on the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The finance function has an excellent track record of recruiting newly qualified Accountants from the Big Four and Top/Mid Tier Accountancy Firms and providing them with an excellent platform to progress their careers with their first step outside Practice. Furthermore, they are renowned for transferring staff between departments to get exposure to other areas such as financial reporting and commercial finance.

The Role

The position of Newly Qualified Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and be required to deputise in their absence. This would be an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Accountant looking to take their first step outside Practice providing a highly reputable employer on their CV with the ability to gain exposure to other areas of the business within the first 2-3 years.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Financial Controller
  • Involvement in a number of high value & business critical projects
  • Managing the month end process including balance sheets reconciliations, accruals etc.
  • Assisting with cashflow analysis
  • Compiling MI to assist with statutory returns & reporting
  • Partnering with key internal functions
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Identifying, mitigating and managing risks
  • Building relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ESSENTIAL
  • External or internal audit experience from Big Four or Top/Medium Tier Accountancy Practice would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to interact, engaged and influence senior internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
