The Role

The position of Management Accountant will report directly to the CFO and work alongside an extremely capable Financial Accountant. The role of Management Accountant will be responsible for the operational and day to day finances including overseeing the finance team with two part qualified accounts and four transactional staff members.

To be considered for this role you must be a qualified Accountant with a desire for career progression and development. The role does not require people management or supervisory experience as the CFO is a big believer in “potential & attitude over experience”. Due to the continued growth and expansion of the business, the chances of progression to a senior management post within the next 36 months should be a realistic and achievable goal.

On Offer

The role of Management Accountant will offer a salary of upto £45,000 base and a competitive benefits package including generous bonus and pension contributions. The office premises are based in Edinburgh city centre which are easily accessible via public transport and also have parking facilities available.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the CFO
  • Managing and mentoring the finance team which includes two part qualified accountants and four transactional staff
  • Ability to get in involved in high value and business critical projects both locally and internationally
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly reporting packs
  • KPI setting and reporting
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Variance analysis with ability to understand and challenge discrepancies
  • VAT returns
  • Preparation of monthly payroll
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures and controls
  • Assisting with systems developments, enhancements and automation
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – CIMA/ACCA/CA (ESSENTIAL)
  • Exposure to both financial and management accounting
  • A passion for people management and development
  • Ability to engage, interact and influence senior stakeholders
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
