iMultiply are delighted to be working with a well known employer in the West of Edinburgh who are looking to bring in a Management Accountant to the team. Working for a business who have circa 80 employees split across locations across the UK, you will be working in an area of the business that is viewed as an integral function,supporting finance, HR, legal, property, insurance and payroll.


Reporting directly to the MD and FD with line management responsibility for 2 direct reports, you will be responsible for the following:


  • Management Accounts – preparation & entry of journals in conjunction with Accounts Assistant, preparation and review of monthly management accounts, communicating monthly results to Board.
  • Year End Statutory Accounts & Audit Process – preparation of statutory accounts, audit file and liaise with external auditors during audit week.
  • Project Accounting – cost comparisons, project WIP valuation, resource costing, loss forecasting for engineering projects, communicating with Directors regarding project statuses.
  • Forecasts & Budgets – forecasting year end results, preparing annual budgets, understanding variances between budget/forecast/actual values.
  • Payroll Management – management of outsourced payroll.
  • Pension Management including auto-enrolment process.
  • Management of AR & AP Functions including making payments to supplier and employees.
  • Management of sub-contractor costs and insurances.
    Management of cash balances.
  • VAT Returns
  • Share accounting, annual returns and various finance admin activities.
  • Various Reports upon request – project costs, project P&Ls, turnover forecasts, etc.
  • Preparation of forecast and financial information for monthly board meetings.


Candidate requirements:

  • Qualified/part qualified accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Advanced Excel skills (essential)
  • Ability to business partner and influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
