The Role

The position of Management Accountant will report to the Head of Group Accounting with responsibilities based locally and internationally. You will be responsible for supporting and assisting the core accounting function for a business with a turnover of just under 1bn and over 30 legal entities. Due to the businesses acquisitive nature, the successful applicant must be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment as they strive to build a first class finance function capable of facilitating further growth & expansion.

On Offer

The role of Management Accountant will offer a salary of £35,000 - £42,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package including generous bonus & pension allowances. The offices premises are based in Edinburgh city centre and easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved with but not restricted to the below duties:

  • Responsible for preparing and posting month end journals in conjunction with the Assistant Management Accountant, ensuring all deliverables are consistently met.
  • Liaise with global finance teams to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Analysis of monthly financial performance and reports of individual business units against objectives.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly overhead reports to budget holders to support performance management and target achievement.
  • Assist in the year-end audit, annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes.
  • Coordinate monthly deliverables with the Fixed Assets & Project Accounting team.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations in conjunction with the Financial Accounting team.
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of intercompany charges.
  • Assist in preparing the Group’s annual transfer pricing charges.
  • Actively contribute towards the timely achievement of wider finance team deliverables and continuous improvement of internal processes.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified or Part Qualified Finalist Accountant 
  • Strong technical accounting experience i.e. IFRS, UK GAAP etc
  • Ability to business partner and influence senior stakeholders
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
