The Role

The position of Management Accountant will sit within the accounting function providing in depth insight to support decision making across the business. To be considered you must possess good people skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders right across the business including interaction & participation with several high value projects. 

On Offer

The role of Management Accountant will offer a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The offices premises are based in Livingston and accessible via public transport, furthermore parking facilitates will also be available.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Preparation of the month end accounts and continued development of the month end reporting process
  • Reporting and analysis of periodic results
  • Ownership of, sections of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process
  • Preparation, monitoring and reporting of key business and financial controls within the business.
  • Work closely with the Head Office accounting and internal audit teams both in terms of month end close and continued Sarbanes Oxley compliance. 
  • Preparation of national statistics reporting
  • Involvement in ad hoc analysis and project work as dictated by the business
  • Oversee the Transaction Team consisting of two team leaders (one Accounts Payable, one Accounts Receivable) and a further 7 staff.
  • Ensure processes are fit for purpose in a fast changing and high-volume environment and comply with SOX guidelines and best practice.
  • Sponsor systems development and projects: work with internal and external resources to ensure delivery.
  • Support the team leaders on a daily basis and ensure appropriate resourcing across AP & AR teams.                            

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified accountant or Part Qualified Finalist
  • Proactive self-starter with proven ability to problem solve complex issues.
  • Excellent communicator with strong team building skills. Ability to coordinate both internal and external teams.
  • Presence of character to command respect and build productive working relationships at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to deliver results in an engaging format
  • Good understanding of ERP systems, highly IT literate with good Excel skills
  • Experience within a multi-location environment
