An excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier has arisen within a well-renowned firm in Glasgow City Centre.

 

The Company

This award-winning legal firm has developed an excellent reputation over the years and have become one of the leading lights in the sector across Scotland and the UK. They provide a variety of legal services to clients across the public and private sectors and due to their on-going success, they now need to grow their Cashier team.

 

The Role

Reporting directly into the Head Cashier, you will be involved with all aspects of the finances and help ensure the finance department runs smoothly and effectively on a daily basis. You will utilise your experience from a similar role to ensure the needs of the firm and its clients are met.

 

Responsibilities

The main duties and responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations ensuring each item is matched timely and accurately 
  • Taking responsibility for opening, closing and maintaining a portfolio of client’s bank accounts
  • Responsible for both Client and Firm bank accounts, banking of cheques, raising payments
  • Processing expense claims
  • Processing deposit account transactions, (uplifts, lodgements, closures & new accounts)
  • Allocating payment to fees
  • Processing balance reports
  • Reconciliation of client balances/deposit accounts
  • Assist with cover for any other departmental tasks as and when required
  • General ad hoc duties

 

On Offer

The Legal Cashier position has arisen based in Glasgow city centre and is offering a highly competitive salary of between £21,000 and £24,000 plus fantastic benefits.

 

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 years of working within a similar Legal Cashier role
  • Good knowledge of Solicitors Regulatory Authority
  • A sound understanding of VAT
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with clients and internal management
  • Be capable of working to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment 
  • Have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, an exposure to any financial systems would be advantageous but not essential
