iMultiply are supporting a global business with the appointment of an International Financial Accountant based in Edinburgh paying upto £55,000 plus a competitive benefits package.

The Company

This business has expanded at a rapid rate due to organic growth and a few monumental acquisitions to make them formidable force within their sector with many labelling them the market leader. Although they are a global player, it’s a business that’s new to the Edinburgh market and one many of the business community are unlikely to have heard of before but will present ample opportunities to constantly expand the successful individuals career, exposure and visibility. Furthermore, there is a number of high value and business critical projects kicking off in 2019 which the successful individual will play key role in supporting.

The Role

The International Financial Accountant will be responsible for financial accounting and a key point of contact for various UK and oversea entities. This is a business that is rich with experience within the finance function and a leadership team that have a real passion for mentoring, training and developing people to ensure that individuals are always being challenged & given the opportunity to reach their full potential. The role will have people management responsibilities and ideally will suit someone 3-5 years post qualified.

On Offer

The role of International Financial Accountant will offer a salary of upto £55,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The office premises are based in Edinburgh and easily accessible via public transport, furthermore parking facilitates are available upon request.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the International Financial Controller
  • People management – part qualified and newly qualified Accountants
  • Involvement in high value and business critical projects including M&A activity, business optimisation, system optimisation, continuous/lean improvements etc. 
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial accounts
  • Internal and external audit preparation 
  • Overseeing month-end close: accruals, prepayments, journals, intercompany transactions
  • Variance analysis and division commentary 
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet
  • Assisting with VAT and Intrastat returns
  • Liaising with transactional finance – AP, AR, banking, payroll etc.
  • Liaising with other functions such as taxation, treasury, corporate finance, IT/Systems
  • Building relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA 
  • Financial accounting experience, ideally with international exposure
  • Strong exposure to month-end close, ideally with a proven track record of developing and enhancing processes, procedures & controls
  • Ability to liaise, interact and build relationships with senior internal & external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
