iMultiply have been engaged exclusively to support a listed business to recruit an Interim Year-End Accountant based in Edinburgh.

The Company

This listed business has had a very exciting 2017 and 2018 is going to involve further growth and expansion. The business has built and acquired a very talented, highly respected and specialist Senior Management Team that are constantly looking to take the business to the next level with M&A activity highly likely over the next 24 months.  

The Role

The Senior Financial Controller is looking for an individual that can come in and support the business during the gear up to a busy year end. To be considered for this role you must be a qualified Accountant with strong year-end experience that is willing to be hands on, furthermore IFRS exposure would be advantageous but not essential. There is also the possibility of a permanent position arising so the line manager is happy to consider applications of purely Contractors or on a temporary to permanent basis.

On Offer

The role of Interim Year-End Accountant will offer a rate of £200 - £300 per day and the office premises are based in Edinburgh with parking facilitates available onsite or easily accessible via public transport. The contract term will be for a minimum 2-3 months.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to the Senior Financial Controller with ability to also deputise for the Finance Manager
  • Assisting with the production of IFRS statutory accounts including consolidations
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet
  • Preparation of VAT returns including reconciling the GL VAT account
  • Assisting with annual audit including populating lead schedules for review
  • Assisting with tax queries
  • Overseeing month end and transactional processing
  • Assisting with treasury duties such as cash position, CHAPS, BACS and cheque payments
  • Involvement in high end and business critical projects
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ESSENTIAL
  • Ability to start a contract in January – ESSENTIAL
  • Strong year-end experience – ESSENTIAL
  • IFRS exposure would be advantageous but not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
