iMultiply are supporting a leading an industry & commerce business with the appointment of a permanent Head of Assurance based close to Falkirk/Stirling

The Role

The position of Head of Assurance is a vital role within its corporate growth strategy and will require an individual that is capable of business partnering with various departmental Heads and the Directorate team. To be considered for this opportunity you will need to hold an accountancy and/or IIA qualification with a passion to improve audit, risk and compliance right across the business including integrating new entities processes, procedures and controls into the group.

The business has the ability to tailor the level of the hire i.e. they would happily entertain an application from an individual looking to take their first move into industry from an internal audit role within practice or would welcome applications of established Heads seeking a new challenge or access to a new sector.

On Offer

The role of Head of Assurance will offer is based close to Falkirk/Stirling and will offer the following package:

  • £60,000 - £70,000

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to the Head of Finance and Head of Legal
  • Providing leadership, guidance and direction to the Directorate team for risk management, governance, internal controls and processes. 
  • Production and presentation of monthly reporting packs on audit, risk and compliance
  • Business partnering with Departmental Heads and the Directorate team to improve audit, risk and compliance right across the business
  • Creation and development of standard operation procedures across the various divisions
  • Creation and development of a risk matrix to enhance and streamline processes, procedures & controls
  • Conducting reviews around risk and controls to identify & close areas of weakness including assisting working with managers to implement these enhancements
  • Ensuring the delivery of quarterly and annual assurance planning aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Investigate and lead on any breaches of compliance, fraud or other investigations
  • Leading on the company’s internal audits 
  • Supporting the various divisions of the business across the UK
  • Assisting with the integration of new entities into the group from an audit, risk and compliance perspective 
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant and/or IIA qualified 
  • Experience of internal and/or external audit
  • Exposure to finance would be highly advantageous
  • Ability to interact, engage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
