A Qualified Management Accountant is required by a Glasgow-based manufacturing business

 

The Company

This successful small business has been going through a period of growth in recent years and due to their international expansion, they now require the services of a commercially astute Group Management Accountant.

Their reputation in the market is first class and they continually focus on delivering products of exceptional quality from their various manufacturing sites in the UK.

The Role

Based in the Glasgow Head Office, and reporting directly to the MD, you will be the main point of contact for all Group finances. You will lead a small team and will be responsible for producing timely and accurate management and financial reports, with a strong focus on robust controls, processes and systems.

It is expected that you will maintain excellent relationships with the various manufacturing teams and you will assist them to save costs and maximise profits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership to a small team and delegate tasks as required
  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts pack with associated commercial commentary
  • Maximise working capital through management and reduction of slow moving stock and reduction of sales ledger debtor levels
  • Preparation, analysis and submission of VAT return
  • You will manage the budget and forecasting process
  • Full control of month end processes
  • Manage & Review the monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Review and ensure quality of core ledgers.
  • Deliver Cashflow reports to Senior Management
  • Prepare cost analysis reports and advise accordingly
  • Continually review and improve on financial processes
  • Maintain a high level of collaboration with other managers within the business

On Offer

This role is based in the East End of Glasgow and comes with a salary of £40-50k, depending on experience and level of qualification.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • You will possess a recognised professional accountancy qualification (CA/CIMA/ACCA) with proven practical experience of at least 5 years financial management in a busy environment.
  • A broad range of management accounting and financial accounting skills and experience will be required, gained preferably within multi-site manufacturing businesses
  • You will have had experience in very busy finance department dealing with high volume transactions
  • Experience within a privately owned small group of companies would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills will be required, with a demonstrable ability to influence decisions and discuss complex financial matters
  • Advanced Excel skills would be beneficial but as a minimum you will be comfortable with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups
  • Experience of Pegasus Opera 3 ERP system would be preferable but is not essential

  • Able to respect and work with others who are not finance familiar
