iMultiply is delighted to be partnering with a well-known manufacturing business in the Glenrothes area to recruit a newly created role of Group Financial Accountant.

This business has performed well under lockdown, servicing industries in the power and defence sectors which have experienced little or no downturn in the current climate. With entities in the UK, Europe and across the Middle East it will be the successful candidate's responsibility to oversee the consolidation of each area into the group structure whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy around financial reporting.

This role would be well suited to a technically minded accountant with strong experience in group consolidations and financial reporting. Reporting directly to the UK Financial Controller, this role will also be directly accountable for a team of 3 qualified accountants and will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts with supplementary analysis and commentary.
  • Preparation of quarterly/annual consolidated statutory accounts for Group compliant with IFRS.
  • Preparation of annual Group subsidiary statutory accounts compliant to UK GAAP.
  • Collate tax pack analysis.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure divisional/group tax computations are completed and submitted to relevant authorities on time.
  • Forecasting Group tax position during the year.
  • In conjunction with UKFC organise and undertake internal audit programme.
  • In conjunction with UKFC organise and undertake balance sheet reviews.
  • Company secretarial duties for Group companies.
  • Organise and manage the Group audit programme to ensure successful Group/company audit outcomes.
  • Support group companies where necessary to achieve successful audit outcomes.
  • Management of company pension schemes.
  • Management of the Group insurance programme.
  • Development of Group accounting policies and procedures.
  • Organise and prepare the Group annual budget and 5 year plan.
  • Support group companies to prepare their annual budget and 5 year plans.
  • Support and develop the accounting systems.
  • Provide business commercial support
  • Support reviews of property leases.
  • Support the UKFC with ad-hoc tasks.

 

Candidate requirements

  • Qualified accountant ICAS/ACCA with at least 2-3 years PQE
  • Strong exposure to group consolidations
  • Strong technical accounting abilities around UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Excellent business partnering experience, especially with senior stakeholders in remote offices and locations
