iMultiply are exclusively supporting a Third Sector client the appointment of a permanent Financial Controller based in Edinburgh city centre paying upto £53,000 plus a fantastic benefits package.

The Organisation

The Role

The position of Financial Controller will report to the Finance Director and be responsible for the daily running of the entire finance function. Within the next few years the Finance Director will transition out of the organisation and the preference is to make an internal appointment making the Financial Controller the natural & organic successor. The Finance Director should also be considered a major attraction for this opportunity as they have a massive passion for developing, coaching and mentoring aspiring finance professionals. Furthermore, the Finance Director is a huge believer in providing an adult and autonomous environment giving the Financial Controller fantastic scope to make the role their own & shape the finance function as they see fit for the future.

On Offer

The role of Financial Controller is based in Edinburgh city centre with parking facilities available onsite. The role will offer the following:

  • Upto £53,000 base salary
  • Very generous pension and holiday allowances

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Finance Director 
  • Managing, leading and inspiring the entire finance team which includes qualified Accountants, part qualified Accountant and transactional staff
  • Representing finance at internal and external committees such as Board, audit, risk and commercial strategy meetings
  • Providing guidance and direction on strategical planning, governance, reporting and risks 
  • Ability to business partner with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Production and presentation of monthly reporting packs with ability to understand & challenge variances 
  • Ensuring adherence with statutory accounts, returns and deadlines
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet
  • Commercial analysis – costs, pricing, contracts, capital investment etc,
  • Creation and monitoring of budgets including business partnering with Departmental Heads
  • Cashflow analysis and short, medium & long-term forecasting 
  • Overseeing month-end, transactional finance and payroll
  • Reviewing and developing financial systems & software
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • People management experience (ESSENTIAL)
  • Exposure to management & financial accounting
  • Third Sector experience would be advantageous not essential
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
