iMultiply are supporting a highly commercial business with the appointment of a permanent Financial Controller based in West Lothian paying upto £47,000 plus benefits.

The Company

This highly commercial and fast paced business has significantly modernised within the past five years including substantial expansion through organic growth and M&A activity.  The modernisation includes the appoint of a fantastic Finance Director that has restructured the finance function to improve controls, processes, procedures and systems whilst also developing the management information provided to the leadership team. It now seeks a talented Financial Controller to assist in its vision to go from a “good to great journey” as it looks to enhance its operational effectiveness even further.   

The Role

The role of Financial Controlled with report to the Finance Director and manage the entire day by day core finance function including a small team of transactional staff and part qualified Accountants. The Finance Director has aspirations to transition into purely commercially focused role within the next five years so someone with the potential to progress organically to the Finance Director within that period is essential. 

On Offer

The role of Financial Controller with offer a salary of upto £47,000 including a strong benefits package. The office is based in West Lothian with parking facilities available onsite. 

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Finance Director
  • Reviewing and developing controls, processes, procedures and systems 
  • Preparation of monthly reporting packs
  • Assisting with budget setting and monitoring
  • Assisting with forecasting and cashflow analysis
  • Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and assisting with the annual external audit
  • Enhancing commercial data and information to improve visibility & real time information for the leadership team including the ability to business partner with the leadership team and department heads. 
  • Ensuring the integrity of the balance sheet
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Overseeing month-end, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, payroll, and bank reconciliations 
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, ICAS, ICAEW (ESSENTIAL)
  • People management or supervisory experience (ESSENTIAL)
  • Management and financial accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office including Excel
