iMultiply are supporting a professional services business with the appointment of a permanent Part – Time Financial Controller based in Edinburgh City Centre.

The Company

This professional services business works throughout the UK and abroad on a wide variety of significant projects. They also work with a wide variety of clients including public bodies, private sector organisations, charitable trusts, community groups and private individuals. The business is owner managed with a hands-on leadership team supported by a talented and creative workforce.

The Role

This part – time FC role will manage a small Finance Team.  This role is a key member of the leadership team, providing influential support to The Board and wider senior management, as the company seeks to take its development strategy forward.  This role requires exceptional leadership and decision making skills and an ability to communicate at all levels.  The role includes developing robust relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders.

On Offer

The role of Part – Time Financial Controller will offer a salary upto £55,000 FTE plus other company benefits. The offices premises are based in Edinburgh City Centre within walking distance of both train stations and near bus and tram routes also.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Managing a sizable finance function including management accounts, purchase ledgers, sales ledgers, credit control and overseeing payroll
  • Heading up business critical projects such as process improvement and systems development
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team to maximise profitability  
  • Production of monthly reporting packs for various entities including P&L, balance sheet and cashflow statements
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts including group consolidations
  • Variance analysis with ability to understand and challenge discrepancies
  • Budget setting and monitoring
  • Short, medium and long-term forecasting  
  • Assisting with statutory accounts preparation, returns and annual audit
  • Liaising and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant - Preferable
  • Proven track record of managing a finance team
  • Experience of project managing process and systems improvements would be highly advantageous
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management exposure
