The Role

The position of Financial Compliance and Reporting Officer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the team is operating in an efficient and effective way, ensuring compliance in statutory reporting and payments and ensuring robust internal controls are in place and adhered to. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the Balance Sheet is accurate and fully reconciled and analysed. Cashflow Forecasting and ad hoc reporting will also be a requirement. The post holder will understand and analyse the monthly KPI data for the team with a view to creating and promoting a continuous improvement culture

On Offer

The role of Financial Compliance and Reporting Officer will offer a salary of £25,000 - £35,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The offices premises are based in Edinburgh and easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Responsibility for ensuring the Balance Sheet is reconciled accurately at all times with an investigative approach.
  • Cashflow Forecasting and Management including reporting to senior management.
  • Ensuring robust internal financial controls are in place and adhered to including KPI reporting.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all processes and procedures are in in place, up to date and being adhered to.
  • Ensuring that Debt Management, Accounts Payable and Payroll Functions are all performing in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Contribute to the compilation of the Annual Report and Accounts, Audit Requirements and any other ad hoc reports.

To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience (Part qualified Accountant)
  • Detailed understanding of accounting principles and forecasting principles.
  • Understanding of HMRC regulations relating to direct/indirect taxes.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures and systems to a high standard.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills partnered with ability to build positive and effective relationships.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Positive and pro-active attitude towards work
