iMultiply are supporting a global business based in Edinburgh with the appointment of a permanent Financial Accountant position paying upto £43,000 - £53,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package.

The Role

The main purpose of the role is to:

  • Assist in delivering a world class accounting service to our European businesses
  • Perform general accounting and reporting activities on behalf of a European site(s)
  • Identify and implement process improvements that support the efficient and effective services provided
  • Drive continuous improvement in the quality of statutory reporting and associated financial controls
  • Be involved in high profile projects that will shape the future of this highly performing finance function

On Offer

The role of Financial Accountant will offer salary of £43,000 - £53,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package including generous bonus and pension contribution.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Provide appropriate and timely financial reports covering various metrics as required by site management.
  • Support group and divisional reporting requirements.
  • Identify and address areas of improvement to facilitate a smarter close process.
  • Own month end activities as assigned to the role.
  • Ensure that all monthly balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled with supporting evidence on a timely basis in line with group deadlines.
  • Prepare company reporting schedules for submission to group.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation and delivery of statutory reports, internal and external audits, tax returns and other government returns.
  • Review, develop and monitor accounting policies, procedure and processes.
  • Work closely with the internal controls team to ensure compliance and support the audit process
  • Responsible for building and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external key stakeholders 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned and support other team members in achieving the team’s objectives.
  • Undertake any other tasks as reasonably requested by your line manager and to ensure that your work is conducted in a cooperative and flexible manner. 
  • Responsible for ensuring that work is conducted in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures 

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant, however finalist level will also be considered with excellent practical experience
  • Strong financial & management accounting experience
  • A desire to improve processes, procedures and controls whilst being involved in high value & business critical projects
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
