An opportunity has arisen to join a highly successful growth business based on the outskirts of Edinburgh as a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

Their business plans and model are highly impressive with a predicted 50% increase in turnover over the next 12-24 months.

The Role

The position of Financial Accountant is a pivotal role within the Finance Team carrying out daily finance processing and reporting function. You will manage accounting records, evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations, completion of statutory accounts, overseeing accounting operations, analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, cash flow forecasting, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information. Due to the company’s size and continued growth this is an organisation where internal progression and development is a priority.

This role is fast paced where requirements can change in line with business needs.  These duties are a general view of what will be required however, significant levels of flexibility and adaptability will be required for this role.

On Offer

The role of Financial Accountant will offer a highly competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 plus benefits. The business is based on the outskirts of Edinburgh and has parking facilities available onsite.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Month end accounting including P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Utilising Excel to complete in-depth financial analysis around business performance including P&L reports, budgets, and expenditure
  • Continually reviewing processes and controls to ensure the accounting function can best support the wider business
  • Providing input into Group VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Financial reporting duties including assisting with year-end audit preparation
  • Complex bank reconciliations including managing multi-currencies across a number of international locations

To be considered for this role you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified or part qualified accountant actively studying an Accountancy qualification – ACCA/CIMA/ICAS
  • Analytically minded with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to liaise, interact and influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
