An experienced Part-Time Finance Officer is required by a Glasgow-based charity

 

The Company:

They are a widely respected national charity with decades of experience in providing bereavement support to families throughout the UK.

 

The Role:

You will be a key stakeholder within not only the finance team, but the organisation as a whole, and the role will be varied. You will be the first point of contact for many financial issues and you will be liaising with senior management on a daily basis so excellent communication skills will be required.

Obviously, the subject matter this organisation deals with will make it a challenging environment but it will no doubt be extremely rewarding and you will play a part in making peoples’ lives better in difficult times.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other departments and budget holders to discuss financial matters and advise accordingly
  • Become the “go-to” person for finance queries
  • Support the audit function and ensure procedures and regulations are followed and issues are dealt with
  • Process and pay invoices
  • Reconcile bank accounts and escalate any issues to senior management
  • General bookkeeping duties
  • Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by management
  • Oversee employee expenses procedure

 

On Offer:

This role is offered on a part-time basis (approx. 4 days per week) and comes with a full-time equivalent salary of circa £24k. Additional benefits are also included.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience of a similar role is essential, ideally within the charity sector
  • A recognised qualification would be beneficial (ie HND, AAT etc)
  • Excellent communication skills will be required
  • A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping is essential
  • Hands-on experience of accounting software is essential, ideally Sage Line 50
  • You must be comfortable using Microsoft Excel
