An exciting new role has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a growing business in Glasgow.

 

The Company

With track record spanning decades within the distribution sector, this business has developed an excellent reputation due to the standard of service they provide their customers. They are currently going through a period of growth and, as a result, the Finance Director requires some additional support at a managerial level.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the existing team and ensuring a robust finance function is maintained. Based in the Glasgow head office, you will  be the main point of contact for all financial matters for the UK business and subsidiaries. Due to the on-going expansion of the business, you will develop a culture of continuous improvement and ensure all procedures are streamlined and fit for purpose. 

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage and develop the small finance team, ensuring performance levels are maximised with any issues dealt with in accordance with HR guidelines
  • Preparation of Management Accounts and related commentary for use in commercial decision-making
  • Consolidation of Group accounts
  • P&L analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Prepare and post accruals, prepayments and other journals 
  • Continuous review and improvement of financial systems and procedures
  • Dealing with international stakeholders and answering finance queries
  • Create / develop reporting tools to present insightful analysis to senior management
  • Other ad hoc tasks delegated by senior management

On Offer

This role comes with a salary of £40-45k, depending on experience, as well as other benefits. The office is easily accessible by car and public transport

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • You must be a Qualified Accountant with demonstrable post-qualification experience
  • Accounts preparation experience is essential
  • Group consolidation experience would be preferred
  • Experience in dealing with multiple currencies would be beneficial
  • First class data analysis skills will be required
  • Excellent IT skills, including a thorough working knowledge of EXCEL
  • You will be a confident communicator who can liaise with senior stakeholders
