An experienced Finance Manager is required by a Glasgow-based Not-For-Profit organisation.


The Company

Formed in the 1960s, this organisation has become one of the largest of its type anywhere in the UK. They have a fairly complex structure, with various funding and revenue streams and they require an experienced Accountant who can lead and develop the finance team.


The Role

As Finance Manager, you will be the main point of contact for all financial matters and you will ensure that the organisation achieves its objectives. You will lead a small but dedicated team and will utilize your extensive experience to support and develop them.  



  • Produce and present Management Accounts for the Group
  • Manage all month-end financial reporting requirements
  • Lead and develop the finance team, conduct appraisals & reviews, and manage staff performance effectively
  • Review current software applications and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades
  • Maintain a culture of continuous improvement and ensure all financial controls and procedures are streamlined, compliant and efficient
  • Manage and analyse company cashflow
  • Oversee and assist with all accounts payable / receivable and credit control duties
  • Oversee Payroll for temporary and contracted staff
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Work closely with budget holders and provide advice on financial matters as required


On Offer

This role comes with a salary up to £34k, depending on experience, as well as other benefits


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification would be preferable but qualified-by-experience applicants will be considered
  • Experience of charity reporting obligations would be preferred
  • Team management experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills will be required and you must have a proven track record of liaising with senior management, budget holders, auditors etc
  • Demonstrable experience of improving and implementing procedures
  • First class IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
