A Housing Association requires a Qualified Accountant for their Finance Manager vacancy.


The Company

This forward-thinking Housing Association have become a major part of the local community in recent years and they are currently going through a period of expansion.  


The Role

This position will be challenging but extremely rewarding. As well as overseeing all BAU finance duties, you will be heavily involved in developing and implementing the strategic direction of the organisation. They see this post as a key appointment in the long-term succession-planning and you will be an important member of the leadership team.



  • Lead and develop the small team, providing training and guidance as required, and ensuring adherence to the organisation’s values
  • Oversee the production of timely and accurate Management Accounts
  • Control the month / year end financial reporting procedure
  • Maintain compliance with strict legislation, and deal with any issues accordingly
  • Produce and review strategies and policies
  • Control the budgeting process and act as the main point of contact for budget holders regarding queries or issues
  • Oversee risk management across the organisation and subsidiaries
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with all relevant stakeholders
  • Oversee all other financial duties with professionalism and in accordance with guidelines
  • Lead compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure staff gave a safe working environment
  • Contribute to the development of ICT systems, as well as the review and implementation of policies and procedures


On Offer

A competitive salary of £42-45k is on offer, which is accompanied by an excellent benefits package.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • A recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACCA, ICAS, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent) will be essential for this post
  • Ideally, you will have extensive Housing experience, but applicants with knowledge of the not-for-profit sector are encouraged to apply
  • Team leadership experience is essential and you will be comfortable developing and managing a small team
  • You will have a demonstrable track record of implementing and maintaining an effective governance framework
  • First class IT skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
