iMultiply are delighted to be partnering with an international business to recruit a permanent Finance Manager based in Glasgow city centre paying between £42,000 – £47,000.

The Company

This high growth business partners with some of the most exciting SME’s in the world and operates within one of the most topical sectors in today’s market & economy. The business has multiple revenue streams and is forecasted to double in size and turnover over the next few years offering excellent job security & fantastic career advancement opportunities.

The Role

The business has added an additional layer into the finance function to provide the Financial Controller with a natural successor due to continued expansion. The company is well established but can still be considered an earlier stage business which presents a perfect opportunity for the successful applicant to make their mark and shape the finance function as they see fit to improve processes, procedures and controls to positively impact on operational effectiveness. This role would ideally suit someone 2-4 year post qualified with a desire to progress to Financial Controller level within the near future.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to and deputising for the Financial Controller
  • Managing a small finance teams of Accounts Assistants
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Preparation of internal & external monthly reporting packs including KPI’s, P&L’s etc.
  • Overseeing a number of high value and business critical projects including project accounting
  • Variance analysis with ability to understand & challenges discrepancies
  • Assisting with budget setting & monitoring
  • Assisting with short, medium and long-term forecasting
  • Monthly VAT returns
  • Overseeing month end including balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset register, journals, prepayments, accruals and payments runs
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders including auditors, project managers etc.
  • Assisting with system developments
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant – ESSENTIAL (Ideally 2-4 years post qualified)
  • Proven track record of improving processes, procedures & controls
  • Ability to business partner with senior stakeholders including non-financial individuals
  • Projects/project accounting exposure would be advantageous but not essential
  • Advanced user of Excel
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
