iMultiply is delighted to be working with a thriving, Blantyre-based business which requires the services of an exceptional Finance Assistant on a part-time basis.
 
The Company
From their Lanarkshire office, this successful business specialises in the manufacture and distribution of Health & Safety products. They have an extensive client base which covers the UK & Europe and they are part of a bigger Group which caters to the US & Chinese markets, among others. They are proud of the standard of products and service they provide and in the last 30 years, their reputation has continually been first class.
 
The Role
This part-time opportunity has been created due to the on-going success of the business and some additional support for the finance team is required. You will be joining an experienced and dedicated team and you will be expected to take on a varied workload depending on the needs of the business. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of accounts to Trial Balance stage
  • Provide financial information to assist with preparation of Management Accounts
  • Prepare month-end accounts for review
  • Processing of invoices in multiple currencies and maintaining accurate ledgers
  • Assist the international Customer Service team with Credit Control duties as required
  • Point of contact regarding supplier & customer queries
  • Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with controlling costs of the business
  • Ensure suppliers paid in line with agreed terms
  • Process staff expenses
  • Prepare VAT returns for review
  • Process month-end journals
  • Ad hoc analysis as required
The Offer
  • The salary for this position is in the region of £20-23k (full-time equivalent), depending on experience.
  • This role is offered on a Part-Time basis, covering approx 20 hours per week. Ideally, you will be available to work on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays but there may be some flexibility for the right individual.
  • Other benefits include discretionary annual bonus scheme, pension and a generous holiday entitlement.
  • Public transport is limited so it would be beneficial to have a full driving license and access to your own vehicle.
To be considered for this role, you should fit the following requirements:
  • You will possess extensive experience of a similar Finance Assistant or Bookkeeping position 
  • You will be confident in processing invoices in multiple currencies
  • The ability to produce accounts to Trial Balance stage would be an advantage
  • Strong IT experience will be required, including a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and an ability to pick up new accounting software quickly
  • First class time management skills 
  • Due to the international nature of this role, the ability to speak additional European languages would be advantageous but not essential
