The opportunity for a Finance Assistant has arisen within a well renowned professional services business based in Edinburgh City Centre. Reporting directly into the Team leader, you will be involved with all aspects of the finances and help ensure the finance department runs smoothly and effectively on a daily basis.

The Role

This is a varied role and you will be involved in numerous areas of the finance function. Your knowledge of accountancy and financial administration will be key to your success in this role and you must have an ability to manage high volumes of invoices.

On Offer

The position of a Finance Assistant has arisen offering a salary of £16,500 - £18,500 including an excellent benefits package plus generous holiday allowance. Their offices are based in Edinburgh city centre and are easily accessible via public transport.

In this role your main duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Processing cash receipts and payments for the business and its clients
  • Assisting with reporting and analysing data
  • Liaising with the Credit Control team to ensure cash is correctly allocated
  • Ensuring bank reconciliations are maintained
  • Reviewing and processing expense claims
  • Dealing with client monies
  • Dealing with queries via email and telephone

The successful candidate for this role will:

  • Have a minimum of 18 months working within a finance environment
  • Have the ability to organise workload effectively, managing and meeting the demands of a very busy environment
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Have strong practical IT skills (Excel is essential)
