The Insolvency department of a leading Top 20 Chartered Accountancy firm requires a Debt Advisor to join its team

The Company

The practice is one of the most dynamic and progressive firms of accountants with a wide range of clients; ranging from individuals, family businesses and large corporates across the breadth of Scotland from all industry sectors.

The Role

Working in a fast paced environment, the role will primarily be to firstly identify qualifying leads and thereafter to provide advice to individuals who have been referred for assistance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and convert leads by providing advice on consumer debt solutions
  • Overseeing cases from initial enquiry to paperwork signed, including completion of factfind, collation of supporting documents and compliance call
  • All associated administration
  • Communicate to management and external sources on case progression
  • Ensure all deadlines are met 
  • Represent the firm in a professional manner at all times

Skills and experience

  • Previous experience providing debt advice and a knowledge of statutory debt solutions available in Scotland is preferred however exceptional telesales experience, with the ability to convert leads, will be considered.
  • Polite, confident and assertive telephone manner
  • Will thrive on achieving targets set
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to overturn a range of objections, coupled with a strong determination to succeed
  • Results focused with attention to detail 
  • IT literate; good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Good team player
  • Work well with minimal supervision 
  • Effective planning and organising skills
  • Self motivated
