A prestigious, highly successful Scottish partnership are currently looking for a Credit Controller to join their Edinburgh office.

The Company

The organisation is relatively young but is one of the largest in their sector in Scotland. They are an international business, who are ever striving for expansion and growth. They are looking for someone to join their finance team, who wants to work in a professional environment and that will take pride in upholding their aforementioned high standards.

The Role

The key focus for this role is for the successful candidate to be accurate and efficient, with an ability to be proactive and work to tight deadlines. Experience within a professional environment is advantageous but not essential. The role will include taking charge of a portfolio of overdue accounts, regular communication with both clientele and other businesses, and accurately recording conversations and progress. Excellent communication skills are key. 

On Offer

The position of Credit Controller will offer between £20,000-£22,000 depending on experience. The organisation is based in Edinburgh and are easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved in but not limited to the following:

  • Daily Calls to customers regarding outstanding money, invoices and all other credit control issues
  • Record all calls on internal finance system
  • Allocate and record payments made by major customers
  • Liaise daily with account managers and customers in response to queries
  • Investigate customer queries & general outstanding issues where necessary
  • Preparation of weekly reports for internal and external stakeholders (Forecast and Action Reports)
  • Undertakes any other finance department activities as required
  • General adhoc duties

Person specification

  • 12 months+ previous experience within a credit control position (professional services advantageous but not essential).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • A proactive individual, with ability to work under tight deadlines.
