The opportunity of Tax Specialist has arisen within a well-established accountancy firm based in Fife.

The Company

An innovative and forward-thinking Practice based in Fife. The firm offer a range of services including Accounting, Tax and Advisory to a variety of small and medium sized businesses across Scotland. 

The Role

The position Tax Specialist is a great opportunity for a driven and ambitious tax professional, offering a good mix of compliance and advisory and the chance to work with a highly knowledgable Head of Tax.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Co-ordinating the process of tax return preparation and review
  • Conducting year-end tax planning
  • Executing advisory projects – Capital Allowances, R&D, Remuneration planning, CGT planning etc
  • Participating with senior members of the team in business development activities
  • Cross selling the firm’s other departments
  • Supervising, reviewing work and assisting junior members in managing their own portfolio of clients
  • Working with the Head of Tax on M&A transactions, restructures and MBOs
  • Coaching and developing junior members of staff
  • Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures
  • Preparing fees and budgets/proposals for potential new clients and discussing with senior members of the team

To be considered for this opportunity you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant or Tax Adviser
  • Strong technical knowledger
  • A track record in complex tax planning
  • Ability to engage, interact and influence senior stakeholders
