An experienced Company Accountant is sought by a Glasgow-based construction firm


The Company:

The Role:

As the Company Accountant, you will be a key stakeholder within the finance function for the Group. You will have a varied workload and you should be able to multi-task as required. This role has team leadership responsibilities so previous experience is essential. You will manage the day-to-day operations within a small team and ensure high levels of performance are maintained



  • Manage, train and develop a small Finance team
  • Preparation of insightful Management Accounts for presentation to Senior Management
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained are recorded accurately with issues escalated accordingly
  • Oversee Accounts Payable / Receivable and Credit Control functions
  • Manage Payroll and ensure accurate reporting of CIS
  • Completion of VAT Returns
  • Conduct analysis of project costs and advise accordingly
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Implementation and on-going improvement of procedures and financial controls


On Offer:

This exciting role comes with a salary of £30,000 - £33,000 depending on experience and level of qualification.


To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Experience of a similar role within a manufacturing or construction environment is essential
  • You will ideally be Qualified-By-Experience
  • Previous experience of managing the performance of a small team is essential
  • Knowledge of Sage 200 would be preferred
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills will be required, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, formulae etc
  • First class commercial acumen with demonstrable experience of influencing business decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when dealing with Senior Management
