A fantastic opportunity for Commercial Analyst in Edinburgh city centre for a 12 month FTC to lead budgeting, reporting and analytical support for all Edinburgh assets and projects. This role will drive inputs for improvements to reporting systems, procedures and controls.

The Role 

Budgeting, reporting and analysis

  • To ensure that all Edinburgh operated, and non‐operated assets, departments and corporate project budgets, forecasts, and actuals (whether monthly, quarterly, or annually) provided are accurate, complete and timely
  • To ensure that variances are fully explained and communicated effectively on a timely basis to relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • To prepare presentations of information for various internal and external meetings
  • To mentor less experienced finance team members

Audit and Compliance

  • Coordinate and prepare inputs and responses for external and internal audits relating to reporting scope
  • Work with Team Lead to prepare and maintain summary of reporting compliance requirements of agreements and develop and maintain a checklist to ensure compliance. Communicate compliance requirements and ensure the wider accounting team satisfy requirement

Systems and processing

  • Review, implementation, maintenance and development of financial systems, procedures controls necessary to efficiently and effectively report and analyse activities 
  • To ensure that new corporate projects are appropriately integrated into operational reports, reporting processes and schedules

The Person 

  • ​Qualified Accountant - CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Strong systems and data manipulation skills 
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met 
  • Good attention to detail and organisational skills 
  • Ability to deal with wide range of cultures
