An experienced Bookkeeper is required by a Commercial Property firm with offices in Glasgow City Centre.
The Company
This privately-owned business specialise in property investment and development. Their extensive portfolio covers the whole of Scotland and includes retail, hospitality and office buildings and they have a fantastic reputation due to the excellent service they provide.
The Role
As Bookkeeper, you will have a diverse workload. No two days will be the same. You will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure all transactional duties are carried out effectively, all tenancy documents are up-to-date and compliant, and you will be the first point of contact regarding finance queries from a variety of stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update all documentation in relation to commercial properties throughout Scotland
  • Support the Head of Finance with month end duties
  • Accounts Payable / Receivable duties and maintaining up to date invoicing details
  • Process Payroll for employees and answer any queries
  • Perform credit control duties as required and record / analyse aged debt, flagging any issues to senior management as appropriate
  • Processing payments through various means
  • Cash allocations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Maintain relationships with utilities providers and deal with any queries, payments, issues etc
  • Assist with contract negotiations
  • Respond to tenant queries and issues with professionalism
  • Provide information for month / year end reporting
  • Produce reports for senior management on an ad hoc basis
On Offer
This role comes with a salary of £20-25k, depending on experience. The office is based in Glasgow City Centre and is easily accessible by public transport
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • A proven track record of a similar Bookkeeper role is essential
  • Experience of working within the property sector is beneficial
  • Knowledge of the property management software system PropMan or similar property management systems is advantageous
  • Exposure within payroll
  • Ideally, you will have good hands-on experience of Microsoft Excel
  • First class communication skills will be required and you will be comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels
