A well established and growing company, based in Edinburgh, are currently looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team and be the focal point for their accounts department.

The Role

The key focus for this role is for the successful candidate to take full control of all aspects of the accounting procedures for the business. The role will include regular communication with a well-established, longstanding administration team; as well as being the sole internal finance function within the business - handling a range of finance related responsibilities.

On Offer

The position of Bookkeeper will offer a salary of £25,000-£28,000 dependent on experience. The organisation is based in Edinburgh and are easily accessible via public transport.

In this role candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Communicating with outsourced accountants regarding preparation of management accounts and other reporting prerequisites
  • Preparation of cash flow statements on a monthly basis.
  • Tracking and reporting on company’s sources of income on Excel.
  • Responsible for submission of company regulatory returns.
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Responsible for submitting payroll information to outsourced provider.
  • Responsible for recording and calculating target-based staff remuneration.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role is essential (at least two years)
  • AAT or equivalent accounting background
  • Working knowledge of SAGE software (ideally Sage 50)
  • Good computer literacy, in particular, Microsoft Excel, Word.
  • Problem solving abilities and willingness to use your own initiative to drive improvements in processes
  • Ability to work and liaise with different stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Willingness to participate and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
