Audit Senior - Glasgow

The Audit team focuses on understanding a business and its key risks. The team builds on this understanding and its considerable experience of auditing clients across a range of sectors ensure that value is added through the audit. 

The firm is currently looking for an ambitious Audit Manager to join its team and assist in the delivery of its audit services. 

The core duties will consist of the following:

• Act as a responsible representative of the firm in all client dealings; 
• Provide an efficient and proactive service to clients and ensure that the clients’ needs are
fully met; 
• Identify and understand client needs, communicating these to the Partner;
• Fully plan (budget, staffing), execute and finalise audit projects within tight deadlines for a portfolio of clients
• Manage audit workflow across the firm to identify staffing availability from other offices;
• Provide partners/RIs with regular updates on the progress of assignments within a portfolio of clients;
• Control cost budgets, meet reporting timetables, prepare key client reporting documents;
• Involved in billing, fee negotiation, WIP and debt management reviews;
• Identify risk matters and maximise fee earnings from your portfolio, and assist in the identification and conversion of sales opportunities for Audit and other service lines;
• Ensure professional standards are met;
• Involved in the management of the Audit department – file reviews, appraisals, organisation/provision of training, mentoring;
• Involved in a number of firm wide performance initiatives and specific ad-hoc projects;
• Supporting and liaising with other departments as required;
• Ensure you meet your continued professional development requirements of the department and provide on-going training and support to the Audit department through the Appraisal system; 
• Cold file reviews
• Performing detailed file reviews;
• Involvement in designing and implementing firms audit approach;
• Making a positive contribution to audit manager and audit department meetings. 

The right person for the role will be a qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA) with significant commercial audit experience, experience of people management and portfolio management and a high level of technical expertise. Demonstrable team-working, communication and inter-personal skills are also essential.
