A well known, regional, independent accountancy practice currently requires a bright and enthusiastic Audit Senior to work as a key member of the audit team

This sizeable firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers is ranked in the Top 10 independent Scottish accountancy practices 

The Role

As a key member of the audit team the successful candidate will take responsibility for running audits, working directly with teh client under Audit Manager supervision, managing teh audit team and supervising the audit process. Clients will include complex groups, large private companies, charities and family owned businesses.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit assignment from planning stage through to completion, liaising closely with the Audit Manager and Partner
  • Identifying complex audit issues and working to resolve these
  • Ensuring audit files have appropriate and sufficient documentation on each section worked on to support the opinion and documenting all conclusions.
  • Delegation of tasks through each assignment to appropriate team members. Supervise, coach and develop junior team members: review their work and provide feedback
  • Take responsibility for monitoring budget, and providing the Manager with detailed variance analysis
  • Preparation of management and annual accounts, where required
  • Build and maintain close client relationships to gain a good understanding of their business, ensure the efficient execution of the audit and identify business development opportunities

Candidate requirements:

  • CA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience leading and coaching audit teams
  • Knowledge of CCH Audit Automation would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of UK and International Financial Reporting requirements
  • Ability to build and manage relationships, and a strong commercial awareness
  • Organisational and time-management skills with an ability to work to budgets and deadlines
