A permanent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Manager within a world-renowned business based in Glasgow.


The Company

This prestigious firm provide insurance brokerage and risk management services to commercial clients. They have been going through a period of expansion and now require additional support across their Credit Control function.

The Role

This is a challenging and fast-paced role and you will become a key decision-maker within the team. As a proven Manager, you will ensure that the training and development needs of the team are met and regular feedback is delivered to employees. You will also be one of the main points of contact for financial matters within your allocated business area so effective delegation will be required to ensure strict deadlines are met.


  • You will assist with the management of the following areas of the finance function:
    • Preparation of the profit & loss and balance sheet accounts
    • Reconciliation of inter-company accounts
    • Preparation and posting of general ledger journals
    • Posting of accruals and prepayments
    • Managing & controlling the fixed asset register
    • Production of the monthly consolidation reporting pack
    • Statutory accounts production
    • Corporation tax computations
  • You will be a main driver for continuous improvement and you will identify opportunities for maximizing efficiency and performance
  • Assist with leading the development of consistent models and financial analysis
  • Assist with leading the development and implementation of processes and procedures
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including Senior Management, Auditors, HMRC etc
  • Ensure your team are managed effectively on a daily basis with tasks delegated appropriately
  • Manage all training needs with professionalism and ensure all employees meet their potential
  • Provide solutions to complex finance and accounting problems

On Offer

This role comes with a salary of £40-50k, depending on experience, as well as other benefits.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CA, CIMA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience in a similar role
  • Proven knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups etc
  • Proven team leadership experience is essential
  • Excellent communication skills
