iMultiply are engaged exclusively with a business looking to list on the stock exchange to recruit a permanent Assistant Finance Manager role paying £40,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits based in Edinburgh.

The Company

This technology related business has gone from strength to strength over recent years with exciting plans to list on the stock exchange close to fruition. As a result of the pending flotation the business has just signed off several new vacancies across the central support functions including this excellent Assistant Finance Manager role.

The Role

The position of Assistant Finance Manager will report to an exceptional Financial Controller with a proven track record of mentoring and developing finance professionals. To begin with the role will involve hands-on month-end duties which is a perfect opportunity to understand the business from the bottom up however there is plans to recruit an Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant within the next 6-9 months allowing the successful individual to get involved in higher end duties and increase their exposure. At present the business operate under UK GAAP however that will shortly transition to IFRS. Ideally the successful individual will be 1-3 years post qualified with a background in audit – this would also be a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to secure their first role/move into industry.

On Offer

The role of Assistant Finance Manager will offer a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 plus a competitive benefits package. The office premises are based in Edinburgh which are easily accessible via public transport and also has parking facilitates available on-site.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller and deputising for the Finance Manager
  • Participating in a number of high value & business critical projects
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including consolidations
  • Variance analysis with ability to understand & challenges discrepancies
  • Assisting with production of statutory and group accounts
  • Assisting with annual audit preparation and liaising with external Auditors
  • Assisting with tax queries and returns including liaising with external tax specialists
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • VAT returns and reconciliations
  • Ensuring the integrity of the general ledger
  • Assisting with month-end
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls
  • Treasury requirements including cash position, CHAPS, BACS and cheque payments
  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Qualified Accountant with 1-3 years post qualification experience
  • Qualified in audit preferably within Big Four or Top Tier
  • IFRS exposure would be ideal however UK GAAP is also highly acceptable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage and interact with senior stakeholders
