iMultiply are delighted to be retained exclusively on a permanent Assistant Accountant position based in Edinburgh city centre.

The Role

The position of Assistant Accountant is a newly created vacancy to support and provide more freedom to the Financial Controller. The successful applicant will be required to assist with management & financial accounts whilst maintaining the transactional processing for the entire business including developing processes, procedures and controls. This role would ideally suit a part qualified or qualified by experience Accountant that understands operating within a SME environment requires a “roll the sleeves up” attitude and is happy to get involved in duties from top to bottom in finance.

On Offer

The role of Assistant Accountant will offer an exceptional salary of £22,000 - £26,000 base salary as well as additional company benefits package. The office premises are based in Edinburgh city centre and easily accessible via public transport

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller with a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer
  • Maintaining financial spreadsheets including fixed asset registers
  • Completing monthly reconciliations of cash, credit card and online payment accounts
  • Posting accruals, prepayments and credit card transactions
  • Credit Control
  • Processing invoices and expense forms
  • Bank account reconciliations
  • Petty cash transactions
  • Helping where required in the preparation of statutory accounts supporting schedules
  • Administration and filing.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Excellent book-keeping/Accounting skills are essential.
  • Hold an AAT certificate or equivalent.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong of transactional processing & maintenance
  • Exposure to preparation of financial accounts & audit preparation
  • Intermediate to advanced user of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders
