iMultiply are delighted to be engaged on the role of Assistant Accountant for a long-standing business based in Edinburgh. The role is offering a salary of £25,000 - £27,000 with additional benefits package. 

The Company

The company have been around for over a century and are heavily involved in a variety of different sectors, ranging from construction to oil and gas. They are now looking to recruit a reliable Assistant Accountant to join their team who will take pride in the success of the business as a whole.

The Role

The role of Assistant Accountant will report to the Managing Director of the business. The successful individual will be charged with managing the finances of the business, including both purchase and sales ledger invoicing; month end journals, accruals and prepayments; as well as working with the company P&L and balance sheet to produce relevant reports. The successful individual will be high proficient on Microsoft Excel and have excellent problem-solving skills. 

On Offer

The role of Assistant Accountant will offer a salary of £25,000 - £27,000 per annum with an additional benefits package. The office is based in Edinburgh with parking available onsite and is also easily accessible via public transport. 

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties:

  • Maintenance of the Purchase Ledger function 
  • Sales ledger including Credit Control (if/when required)
  • Bank Reconciliations 
  • Preparation of month end accruals, selected balance sheet reconciliations and prepayments 
  • Preparation and analysis of financial and management reports
  • Assisting with VAT Returns and ensure accurate treatment of invoices
  • General ad hoc support to the Senior Management Team 

To be considered for this role you must: 

  • Have at least 3 years accountancy and finance experience
  • Have experience of operating accountancy software e.g. Sage Line 50 
  • Have excellent communication and relationship building skills 
  • Have excellent MS Office Excel skills i.e. vlookups, pivot tables etc. (desirable)
  • Have an analytical and problem-solving mindset
