The position of Assistant Accountant (part-time or full-time) with a growing progressive business has arisen based in Edinburgh City Centre.

The Role

The position of Assistant Accountant (part-time or full-time) is a newly created vacancy to support senior management. The successful applicant will be required to assist with management & financial accounts whilst maintaining the transactional processing for the entire business including developing processes, procedures and controls. This role would ideally suit someone that understands operating within an SME environment requires a “roll the sleeves up” attitude and is happy to get involved in duties from top to bottom in finance.

On Offer

The role of Assistant Accountant will offer a highly competitive salary of £25,000 - £35,000 pro rata. If you are interested in this role on full-time hours this can be facilitated providing you’re happy to be in slightly broader position. Their office premises are based in Edinburgh city centre which is easily accessible via public transport.

You will be involved in but not restricted to the following:

  • Assisting with monthly management accounts for various projects

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Accruals, journals & prepayments

  • Managing the companies expenses

  • Maintaining the purchase ledger

  • Maintaining the sales ledger

  • Bank reconciliations

  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures & controls

  • Adhoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Ability to demonstrate a proactive approach

  • Exposure to preparation of management accounts would be advantageous

  • Excellent Excel skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to engage with senior stakeholders
