A Accounts Assistant is required for a temporary to permanent post with a business based in Glasgow City Centre.

The Role

Temporary to Permanent, applicants should only apply if available to start immediately (1-week notice) flexibility required for international travel (training).

This opportunity has become available due to international business being relocated to the Glasgow office. It will be a varied role and will provide you with experience of some advanced and complex duties, will be invaluable to your long-term career development. You will be involved in numerous business-as-usual transactional duties (as outlined below) but due to the scale of the business and their growth aspirations, you will gain exposure to financial reporting and data analysis duties, and you quickly become adept at liaising regularly with senior stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

As an Accountant Assistant, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Transition all finance transactional processes to Glasgow office
  • Prepare bank reconciliation agreed to bank statements on a monthly basis
  • Process credit card transactions from the business.
  • Provide accurate and timely billing of all costs including third party costs and work closely with local finance to ensure costs are allocated correctly and subsequently billed onto clients.
  • Analyse and resolve all outstanding adjustments and liaise with relevant teams to ensure clearance
  • Seek appropriate approval from designated bank mandate signatories for making payments.
  • Record and maintain Client and Business records in line with Company Procedure
  • Liaise with key business area contacts to ensure communication channels are open & effective.
  • Month End reconciliations are prepared within agreed deadlines for further review and approval.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and ensure it is up to date for month end.
  • Analysis of processes to improve efficiency.
  • Deal with Internal/External auditors as and when required.

On Offer

The salary on offer will be in the region of £22,000 - £23,000, depending on experience, and there will be other benefits included in the package.

The office is in an easily accessible City Centre location.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

  • Previous experience working in Financial Services management
  • Experience with JD Edwards and/or other relational databases are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Highly organised and efficient with an ability to establish and monitor priorities
