Due to the recent win of a large and prestigious contract, this successful Insolvency division of one of Scotland's largest accountancy practices requires an experienced Personal Insolvency Administrator 

The Company

This successful accountancy practice is one of Scotland’s longest established larger independent firms of chartered accountants, providing a full range of services to clients including audit (both internal and external), accountancy and valued added, corporate and personal taxation, business advisory, corporate finance and consultancy services.  The firm operates a dedicated insolvency department which provides debt solutions to both consumers and businesses. 

The Role

The Accounts Team support the Insolvency department in all accounts-related activity, including support of the AIB contract.  The following information systems will be used: IPS, CCH, INVU, AIB Portal, Microsoft Outlook and Excel.  This role provides effective accounts assistance to the team.  


  • Preparation and submission of fees and accounts for both Sequestration and Trust Deed cases including:

    • Preparation of SIP9

    • Preparation of Accounts on BASYS – Sequestration cases only

    • Preparation of circulars relating to fees

    • Preparation of Schemes of Division

  • Administration for submission of B2 account extensions

  • Administration of dividend process for both Sequestration and Trust Deeds

    • Ingathering and reviewing creditors’ claims

    • Issuing adjudication on creditors claims

  • Payment of dividends administration to ensure effective closure of Trust Deeds & Sequestration cases

  • Liaising effectively with Accounts Team members, cash room and other teams as required

  • Any other appropriate tasks, as directed

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:

Successful candidates must have an accounts background (work and academic), be able to work within a busy office environment and must be effective communicators.  A quality approach to work is essential and you must hold appropriate qualifications in Accountancy/Maths and English, or equivalent.  A background in an insolvency environment is beneficial but not essential

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Previous cash/banking/accountancy experience

  • Excellent day to day use of the Microsoft Suite (eg, Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Competent in the use of computerised accountancy packages
