The Role

The position of Accounts Assistant is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate coming from an accountancy firm/practice background looking to develop their career in a highly reputable firm. The purpose of the role is to assist the client manager in the management of existing clients and developing the business to generate new ones

On Offer

The role of Accounts Assistant will offer a salary of £22,000 - £25,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The businesses stunning and modern offices are based in Edinburgh city centre.

The role will fashion the following duties:

  • Preparation of statutory financial accounts from clients records maintained on Xero, Sage, etc. 
  • Preparation of management accounts 
  • Preparation of planning including budget and fee quotes 
  • Undertaking analysis of accounts and reporting findings to senior management 
  • Checking of accounts and ensuring statutory disclosures are accurate
  • Preparation of fee notes to be issued to clients
  • Advising clients of how accounting processes can be improved
  • Providing clients training on systems and software

To be considered for this role you have the following skills/experience:

  • Worked in an accountancy firm/practice environment for ideally 1-2 years ESSENTIAL
  • Be personable and competent in building trust and rapport
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and develop existing client relationships
  • Be confident in working to tight deadlines effectively
